October 2005

"I was injected with Brucellosis in veterinary school and I have had bouts of fever and I have been losing my hearing ever since." One of the countryside veterinarians, Oyunchimeg was telling this story to Zola and me during lunch on the last day of her veterinary continuing education (CE) training meeting. As Oyunchimeg continued her story I knew that she needed to hear more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just the evening before, Oyunchimeg had heard two Mongolian pastors discuss creation vs. evolution during our evening time activity during the CE week. As she continued to tell us more of her physical problems others started to gather and listen. When I started to explain how much God loves her, she asked if we could go a private room. She desired to talk more and find out more about Jesus Christ. Within a short period of time she prayed the prayer of salvation and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior! The angels were rejoicing! Luke 15:10. Zola and I gave Oyunchimeg a Mongolian Bible, some specific scriptures of what God's Word says about her salvation and new life in Jesus, and prayed for her.

People like Oyunchimeg are exactly the reason for the veterinary CE program. She met her Lord and Savior during the same week that she received abundant teaching to improve her veterinary skills which will improve the health of the livestock that she works on which in turn will improve the life of the people in her community. In addition, she now has the Good News of Jesus Christ to take back to her community. You are sowing into the lives of precious people like Oyunchimeg. Thank you. Please pray for her that she will resist obstacles to her growing in the Lord. Her husband is a Buddhist and she will need to walk in wisdom and allow the love of God to work through her.

Our school teacher teams have returned from the countryside with exciting reports of many people accepting Christ. As you remember our teacher teams spread out to various communities in four states to teach the illiterate children of herders who are not able to go to school during the winter. Zanda, one of our teachers, shared a story about a little boy with Leukemia. He had suffered with sickness and disease for sometime. She began to tell his family about the Gospel of Jesus Christ which includes the healing power of Jesus Christ and was allowed to pray for the little boy. God miraculously touched the physical life of this child and made him whole and Zanda was then able to lead his family to the Lord! By the time Zanda left that community at the end of the summer the little boy was full of energy and running and playing like all the other little children! What a testimony this was for the community, Zanda and all of V.E.T. Net. We were so proud of Zanda for her obedience to God for taking the step of faith to carry out Mark 16: 15 by laying hands on the sick and they recover. Once again the angels rejoiced when this family received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The fields are white for harvest here in Mongolia!

Another report really stands out. Naraa told about the community drunk who had a broken leg and continued to break it. He was unshaven and did not bathe regularly. He rode his motorcycle like a mad man. Two of the V.E.T. Net teachers were in his community for the summer. They were praying for him and they both felt like they should offer to wash his leg and pray for him. They went to him with their concern and offered to wash his leg and pray. He was amazed that anyone would care for him and he gladly received them. They prayed and he said he felt better. A few days later he appeared in the community shaven, hair cut and combed, in clean clothes, and with a bright and cheerful countenance. His leg was healed and he had received Jesus. He had also stopped drinking. This was such a great witness to the community that many received Jesus and it happened because the teachers were willing and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for all your many prayers for us and V.E.T. Net. We do need your prayers once again that we have favor with the Mongolian State Inspection Agency and the Mongolian government. We are having challenges with them once again. They are really making it hard to bring good veterinary drugs into this country to help the people of Mongolia. It is amazing to us how their greed and pride gets in the way of help for their country. Thank you for praying.

You are an important part of what God is doing in Mongolia. We appreciate you so very much!!!

Serving Him together,

Richard, Mary, George and Sally
